Shawn Rite AKA "SAVAGE" Tampa newest uprising Reggae Artiste. He posses that fire but yet real positive what the dancehall is needing today.BLM got a chance to sit with Shawn Rite for a mini interview.......
BLM:TELL US ABOUT THE NAME " SAVAGE" SR:The name Savage is my last name, so from Primary school days my friends have been calling me Savage, However a few other Artist have the same name so now I go by "SHAWN RITE aka (Savage). And that name came from me playing Football.
BLM:Where you were born SR:I was Born in Kingston, Jamaica
BLM:What age you came to the US SR:I came to the US at the age of 15, in the year 2000.
BLM:What age did you discover the love for music SR:I actually found my love for music at a very young age, I was 8 years old when I started dj-ing for my brothers and sisters, even getting in trouble with my mother for certain kind of lyrics; But it wasn't until the age of 18 when I decided that I should let the world hear my music.
BLM:Any special Talent Show Contest SR:I did a Supligen talent show when I was 13, but I was known as a dancer, and not as an Artist, so not many people knew that I could do music.
BLM:Where you reside now SR:I currently reside in Tampa, FL.
BLM:Whats does Savage have to offer the music industry now SR:Right now I can offer my own style of music. I can offer a continuation of the great quality of reggae music that I grew up listening to.
BLM:How would you describe your style of music SR:My style of music is unique, I tell stories that people can relate to through my music. I also speak about things that will uplift a person spirit.
BLM:Who was your influence for the music SR:My influences are all the great pioneers of Reggae music. People like Garnett Silk, Beres Hammond, Lukie D, Capleton and Beenie Man has a big influence on the kind of music I do.
BLM:Where would you like the music to take you 10 years from now SR:Ten years from now I would like to be one of the top Reggae artist, I want to be the best reggae artist.
BLM:Are you currently signed with any label SR:I am not signed with a label at the moment
BLM: Any performance coming soon
SR: Yes actually I will be perfoming on "All Island Link up" Nov 25th at Legends Sports Bar (Tampa) and Baby Cham Concert Nov 28th also at Legends.
